Tenshin Nasukawa a laughable event

  • Mayweather was smiling as he floored Nasukawa three times in the opening round

As for Mayweather - don't be surprised if he picks up another one of these easy pay day boxing matches in the new year.

The circus that has surrounded Floyd Mayweather's new year bout in Japan against Tenshin Nasukawa lived up to that billing on a rather farcical occasion.

Floyd Mayweather probably got more of a fight than he was expecting on Monday night in Japan, but "Money" finished things off with a flurry against Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14.

Set at a weight limit of 147 pounds, there were no judges in attendance and it did not count toward the professional record of either fighter.

United Kingdom alarm as migrant boats cross Channel
Compared to other influxes of migrants and refugees, the numbers trying to cross the Channel recently are tiny. A Home Office spokesman said: "The group consisted of nine men, two women and 10-year-old child".

As Mayweather pummeled poor Nasukawa, the broadcasters sounded like the fight was something for the ages, gushing over how awesome Mayweather looked beating up a tiny opponent.

There are also unconfirmed rumours Mayweather could take on reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who said last month any match-up would be "twice as interesting" as the McGregor fight. "But, you know, I did this just to entertain the fans in Japan". That said, nobody should blame Mayweather for getting paid for essentially doing nothing.

Mayweather said in the build-up he expected to pocket $US9 million ($A13 million) from the fight, which headlined an event organised by Rizin Fighting Federation, a Japanese mixed martial arts organisation.

Former world champion and Olympic gold medallist Andre Ward was more sympathetic, saying: "Mayweather was following in the footsteps of other legendary fighters who used exhibitions to stay in shape and keep n contact with fans". "This don't go on my record".

Brother Of Murdered California Officer Gets Emotional Thanking Law Enforcement
The shooting and subsequent manhunt captured the attention of residents in and around Stanislaus County and across the country. Gustavo Perez Arriaga is accused of killing 33-year-old Ronil Singh in the town of Newman early on Wednesday.

"I want to say thank you to Tenshin".

The two took part in an exhibition fight that was clouded in uncertainty as to whether or not it was ever going to really happen. I am still retired.

Mayweather added: 'We had fun, first I want to thank God for this unbelievable turnout, this event, my team. He is a great champion and a great fighter. Well, when he's picked up a million dollars a minute, who can blame him?
