Hudson-Odoi has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season but has starred in cup competitions for the Blues. "In my opinion, we need two players", he said.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Tuesday night, Sarri said: "Chelsea v Tottenham is a very hard match and also for them, so it will not be easy to win at Stamford Bridge but after this performance, if we are able to play on the same level I think that we can do it".

The 18-year-old believes Hudson-Odoi can be "the next one" off England's current production line of talent, and revealed he has had talks with the Chelsea 18-year-old about life in Germany, amid a £35 million bid from Bayern Munich. Lampard has admired Hudson-Odoi's performances from afar and hopes the England Under-19 worldwide is still a Chelsea player when the January transfer window closes.

Sarri declined to comment on persistent links with his former Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan at AC Milan from Juventus.

"I have told him the Bundesliga is a nice league".

We can only speculate that it'll be a midfielder to replace Alvaro Morata and a striker to brush aside the misfiring Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

Willian was on Thursday linked with Barcelona, but Sarri ruled out the prospect of the Brazilian departing this month.

Chelsea, however, have not given up hope of changing Hudson-Odoi's mind, and Sarri - who picked the 18-year-old to start against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg at Wembley on Tuesday - hit out at Bayern.
