An Israeli air force fighter killed three Palestinian boys yesterday, intent on reaching the security fence erected by the government to defend the borders.

Many Palestinian protesters burnt tires in an attempt to blur the vision of Israeli army sharpshooters, who were heavily deployed along the northern border of the besieged Gaza Strip. The deaths a day earlier of the teens, whom Gaza's Health Ministry said were 13 and 14 years old, threaten to plunge the area into further violence after a brief exchange of fire between Gaza militants and Israel over the weekend.

In response to Hamas' "grave actions", dozens of IDF fighter jets, attack helicopters and aircraft struck roughly 80 Hamas targets throughout the Gaza Strip, said the Israeli army.

According to the palestinian Centre for Human rights, they were between the ages of 14 to 15 years.

The incident occurred with tensions high along the border after months of protests and clashes. Later, he said, "I heard the explosion and I knew they were dead". "These are small children", he said.

The rejected probe asserted that Israeli soldiers did not directly fire at the medic, asserting that soldiers had opened fire at demonstrators.

Palestinians and rights groups say protesters have been shot while posing little threat.

The Israelis have launched three wars since 2008 against Palestinians in the Gaza enclave and the ruling resistance group there, Hamas.
