Lakers ready to move past Rockets incident

  • LeBron James #23 and Brandon Ingram #14 of the Los Angeles Lakers celebrate in the first quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers during their game at Moda Center

Los Angeles Lakers teammates Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo, along with Houston Rockets star Chris Paul, were suspended without pay Sunday for an on-court fight during the teams' Saturday night game.

Rondo received a three-game suspension for throwing punches and spitting at Paul, who drew a two-game suspension for poking at Rondo's face and throwing punches at him.

However, Rondo obviously targeted Paul, spit in his face, which led to Paul responding and Ingram jumping in.

James finished with 24 points and five assists but the Lakers could not stop the Rockets' dynamic duo of James Harden and Chris Paul, who combined for 64 points. That is when it really spiraled out of control as Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo threw punches with Ingram running over and throwing a cheap shot of his own.

Allegri: Cristiano Ronaldo has brought a greater sense of professionalism to Juventus
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 18th minute but the reigning Serie A champions were pegged back in the second half. However, it was not enough to lead Juventus to Champions League glory which they have been chasing from quite sometime now.

Here is what you need to know before the Lakers host the San Antonio Spurs. It's just a long term, I always tell y'all that, this was one of the long term dreams that I've always had. Paul, Ingram, and Rondo were all ejected and the Rockets went on to a 124-115 win.

James joins a franchise that has missed the playoffs in each of their last five season, the longest playoff drought in franchise history for the 16-time National Basketball Association champions. You talk monetarily, he's paying three times more than other guys are paying for missing games? The video appears to conclusively show saliva coming out of Rondo's mouth, Paul flinching and putting his hand to his face, before he shoved Rondo's face, to which Rondo replied with a punch.

"In the heat of the moment, when somebody does that, that's tough".

"[We are] sending a clear message that this is not acceptable behaviour and you can not do this". Ingram then came flying in and punched Paul in the back of the head.

Paul Merson states his prediction for Chelsea FC v Man United
Merson added: "If United do lose, the pressure will nearly certainly crank up again on Jose Mourinho ". We have an fantastic group of players and the talent we have is scary".

The fight could leave with both teams without key rotation players due to suspension.

VanDeWeghe clearly indicated that Rondo did not acknowledge spitting on Paul. It's hard for me to understand how Rondo didn't get a matching sentence with Ingram at the very least.

The fight marred what should have been an exciting night for the Lakers, as it was LeBron James' home debut.
