  • Mueller Might Accept Some Written Answers From Trump In Russia Probe

President Donald Trump claimed in an interview that there are "100 pictures" of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey "hugging and kissing each other".

Mueller's offer to accept written responses from Trump on questions about possible collusion was contained in a letter that Trump's lawyers received on Friday, the person said.

Giuliani also said last month that the president's legal team would send a letter to Mueller regarding their "reluctance" to discuss potential obstruction of justice in any interview with Trump.

And the special counsel left open the possibility that he may still try to press Trump in person about a second piece of his investigation: whether the president has sought to block the probe since taking office.

They say any alleged sex crime involving an adult that occurred in 1992 would fall outside of California's statute of limitations. He was dropped past year from the Netflix television series House of Cards and erased from the film All the Money in the World .

Following the "kissing" comments, the President went off on a familiar diatribe about the supposed illegitimacy of Mueller's investigation, which has already resulted in almost 40 indictments against Trump associates and Russians.

Some of Trump's advisers viewed Mueller's new letter as a sign of begrudging acceptance that he would lose a legal battle to compel the president to testify.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for the Special Counsel's office, declined to comment. In March, Mueller raised the prospect of subpoenaing Trump if he refused to be questioned voluntarily. That's an effort that could lead to a Supreme Court challenge by the White House. Trump's team hasn't responded to the latest Mueller proposal.

But according to Trump, Mueller is prejudiced against him because he got his best friend, Comey, fired.

"You know I call them 'the 17 angry Democrats, '" Trump said of the special counsel team, ignoring the fact that Mueller is a longtime Republican.

According to a Tuesday in The New York Times, has shifted his position on whether he wants to answer questions under oath in a personal interview.

The president could submit written answers to questions about whether his campaign was involved with Russian interference in the 2016 election. You know, he's Comey's best friend.

And for another, Trump claimed, without any proof that Comey and Mueller are "best friends" and even more, of the "hugging and kissing" variety.
