Israel says its naval blockade of Gaza is meant to prevent weapons from reaching militant groups. The delegation is in Gaza amid high-level discussions about an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire.

In a statement released Wednesday night, the Palestinian Authority said Israel planned to halt the entry of fuel and gas into Gaza starting Thursday.

United Nations and Egyptian-led efforts are underway to mediate a long-term ceasefire between Israel and Hamas who have fought three wars since 2008.

Muhammad Dahlan, a 31-year-old cameraman based in the Gaza Strip, on Saturday won the Grand Prize from Press House Palestine, a non-governmental media association, for his Return, a four-minute film.

The ministry says an additional 70 Palestinians suffered other types of injuries.
