  • Man Steals Shark From San Antonio Aquarium in Baby Stroller

One man held the tail of the shark, while the other two suspects wrapped a wet blanket around it, according to Leon Valley Police Chief Joseph Salvaggio.

The less than one year-old female shark, nicknamed Miss Helen, was netted by one of the supects from an interactive tank in the aquarium where visitors are allowed to touch the fish in it.

Salvaggio said the motive for the theft was unclear, but said the group appeared to know precisely what they were seeking.

The aquarium added: "We value the lives of all of our animals and take pride in the care that we are able to give them as well as the education that we are able to give to the general public about these treasured species".

The suspects could face additional federal charges because of permits required to possess exotic animals, police said.

In one video, a man can be seen reaching into the uncovered petting pool and plucking out a foot-and-a-half-long horn shark.

Police said the mastermind of the theft has several marine animals in his home.

There they allegedly waited for the flawless moment to strike.

The tools needed to pull off the heist?

Horn sharks are worth about $2,000.

More than 200 killed as Isil storms villages in Syria assault
Syria's southwestern Quneitra province includes the Golan Heights, most of which is annexed and occupied by Israel. Although the group has largely been defeated across Syria and Iraq, it still holds pockets of territory.

UPDATE: The San Antonio Aquarium provided KENS 5 with a screenshot of this post, where someone is apparently trying to sell the shark.

The shark was placed in the bucket and then placed in a stroller as the trio headed out to the parking lot. The woman stands nearby holding the baby. She said she told him she had seen water leaking from the baby stroller.

The surveillance footage shows a man plucking the shark from the tank and carrying it away, off camera, still dripping water. Police were working to get a warrant to retrieve the shark, Spellman said. Miraculously, the shark was found unharmed by the police later and has now been returned to the San Antonio Aquarium. The incident took place at the San Antonio Aquarium in Texas on Saturday, July 28. "If it had just been someone off the street who had no idea about anything, we would have a dead shark on our hands".

"SAPD confirmed that there is a suspect in custody who has given a confession and says the shark is still alive", Spellman said.

The other man and woman will be "charged at large", Salvaggio said.
