Zimbabwe's opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai's health is reported to have deteriorated rapidly.

The opposition leader was reportedly confirmed by family members to be suffering from colon cancer which left him with symptoms of fatigue, muscle thinning and weight loss.

During his political struggle against ex-President Robert Mugabe, he was beaten and imprisoned numerous times.

Tsvangirai has been the main challenger to the ruling ZANU-PF party since 1999, when he formed the MDC party.
