Jammu: Kavinder Gupta, speaker of the Legislative Assembly, stirred a major controversy after claiming that the attack on the army camp at Sunjwan took place as there are Rohingya refugees present in the area.

A group of four heavily armed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists today attacked the army establishment in Jammu in wee hours of the morning.

The camp is located on the outskirts of the city of Jammu.

The police has cordoned off the area and a search operation was on to pin down the militants.

A red alert has been issued in entire Jammu after the attack. They've been cornered in one of the family quarters.

Reports further added that the terrorists later entered inside the camp of 36 Brigade and engaged the troops in a gun battle.

The incident occurred when 3 terrorists entered the camp from the rear side and lobbed grenades and opened firing. They fired indiscriminately killing a junior officer and injuring three others including his daughter, a jawan and a civilian.
