  • Apple is investigating why one AirPod caught on fire in Florida

A man in Florida claims that one of his Apple AirPods began smoking and later exploded. Florida's WFLA TV reports that the man, Jason Colon, was working out at an exercise center when he saw smoke originating from the AirPod in his correct ear. His right Apple AirPod was emitting a steady flow of white smoke while Colon worked out to a dance music playlist. The right AirPod was burned and broken while the left side was left unharmed.

Colon made a decision to leave it on a piece of workout equipment and seek help, but when he returned, the earphone apparently was good as gone.

Speaking to local news station News Channel Eight, he added: 'It's the craziest thing I ever went through.

Venom teaser trailer…doesn't actually show much of Venom
Fans have been dissecting every frame of Venom's first trailer today, looking for clues about the plot of the secretive project. That narrative pits Venom against the Life Foundation, a group that pushes the Venom symbiote to spawn several more variations.

Though rattled from the whole experience, Colton insisted he's glad to have trusted his intuition and acted so quickly to remove the AirPods from his ears, admitting that "I don't know what would've happened to my ear, but I'm sure since it hangs down, it could've been [my] ear lobe. Ear lobe could've been burnt".

It's certainly the first time we've heard an instance of the AirPods exploding.

In 2016, Samsung recalled the Galaxy Note 7 after some phones caught fire because of a defect in the batteries.

Rand Paul holding up vote to keep government open
Pence is set to lead the USA delegation to the opening ceremonies of the Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Friday evening. Paul used a procedural move to stall the legislation - the result of a major bipartisan budget deal - from coming up for a vote.

This caused the battery cell's upper right corner to be crimped by the casing. You can't even imagine the damage that it could have caused Mr. Colon is the AirPods would have popped in while still in his ears.

This isn't the first case of a popular product bursting into flames. The news has been shared with Apple and a company's spokesperson says that the firm is investigating the matter and will contact the owner for more information.
